Chef Mumtaz

Chef Mumtaz’s journey began in his childhood kitchen, where he was inspired by his mother—an extraordinary home cook. Driven by passion, he began learning from local Pakistani chefs at a young age, blending his heritage with professional experience.

Over time, he also trained under Italian chefs, which added depth to his culinary skills. By 1999, he earned his title as a senior chef.
His brother Riaz, a pioneer in the food and beverage field since 1995, was the very first employee of the original Jashan Kyrenia. Mumtaz joined him in 1996, and together, they have grown Jashan into a beloved name known for its freshly prepared, authentic Pakistani dishes—especially their famous Mix Tikka and Karahi.

The word “Jashan” means celebration—and every meal here is just that. More than food, Jashan offers an experience: the taste of home, the warmth of Pakistani culture, and a flavor that delights both local and international guests.
With a loyal following and a one-of-a-kind flavor profile, Chef Mumtaz’s vision is now to bring Jashan’s unique taste to cities all across Cyprus.
